The Honest Company

The Honest Company

If you know me you know I like to maintain a “green” lifestyle as best I can. I am adamant about recycling, there is certain produce I will only purchase organically, I try to buy local as much as possible (the milk we drink is from a dairy farm here in Kansas. Glass milk jugs that I return each week to recycle. LOVE IT!), and I am very particular about what products we use. Once you start to research the everyday products and food you use and eat it really becomes scary. I try hard to limit the amount of boxed food I purchase from the store; those are typically the worst offenders. Read the ingredients. What in the hell is that stuff?

I’ve got one little punk who suffers from asthma (a result of being sick with RSV at a month and a half old and spending a week on a ventilator) along with eczema, which means his skin flairs up whenever we have an important event or pictures. Most products we’ve tried have always been too harsh for him. Plus, I started reading about the ingredients in most everyday products we use and was instantly mortified.

I don’t remember how I stumbled upon The Honest Company but after I signed up and got an Honest Bundle Sample, I haven’t purchased any of these products anywhere else. You can choose between “Diapers and Wipes.” “Essentials” or “Health and Wellness” bundles that you receive every four weeks, or you can customize delivery based on your needs. Every month I have 4-in-1 laundry packs, dryer cloths, and at least one hand soap delivered. Depending on what I need I’ll add a dish soap, extra hand soap, body wash (heaven-sent for my sensitive skin punk), fruit and veggie wash, toilet bowl cleaner or multi-surface cleaner. I also love their dishtowels and the ceramic soap dish and bamboo-handled brush with plant-based bristles.

This is one of my very first bundles (yes, I celebrated with a picture because I’m a dork). I’ve been hooked on these products since day one and have now been using them for over a year. If you’re interested in learning more, check it out at and do your own research. Try out a free sample bundle (you’ll have to pay shipping) and see what you think. I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any of their products and what you think so leave a comment or shoot me an email.
